Research Interests:

Cancer is one of the most intricate and life-threatening diseases. Our laboratory would like to understand how does the initiation of cancer happens in the human body. Notably, the mechanistic details and process of cancer initiation are still not well understood. Our research interests involve understanding the initiation of cancers and their progression in cancer development, including metastasis for the childhood and aggressive cancers. We are especially interested in investigating the role of the loss of cancer suppression genes and the involvement of post-translational modifications in the initiation of cancers using cell biology, mouse models, and modern biology approaches including mass spectrometry based quantitative and targeted proteomics. Furthermore, the biomarkers involved in the cancer initiation and progression for childhood and aggressive cancers will serve as targets for developing cancer therapeutics.
