Research Interests

The major research interest of our group is centered on membrane and receptor biology using a variety of biophysical, biochemical and cell biological approaches. Fluorescence-based spectroscopic and microscopic approaches are extensively used in our laboratory. The research interest of our group can be broadly categorized as follows:

Membrane Organization and Dynamics using the Wavelength-Selective Fluorescence Approach.
Novel Organization of Cholesterol in Membranes at Low Concentrations: Effects of Curvature Stress and Membrane Thickness.
Organization, Dynamics and Lipid-protein Interactions of the Serotonin1A (5-HT1A) Receptor.
Monitoring Organization and Dynamics of the Serotonin1A (5-HT1A) Receptor in Live Cells utilizing Dynamic Fluorescence Microscopy (FRAP and FCS).
Role of Membrane Cholesterol in Leishmaniasis.
